Shipping & Return Policy

Shipping

Some folks have asked how our shipping costs are calculated and why they can sometimes seem high, especially in summer months but also for some of our most perishable products [like our popular Pig Candy] year-round. Unless other arrangements are made with us by telephone we normally ship via UPS and you can choose the delivery method for most items to suit your needs. But other products, like our Pig Candy cannot be shipped via ground unless you are in the NYC metro area to assure product freshness. Saturday delivery is only available for Overnight deliveries shipped on Friday, and is an additional $15.00. If you wish for an order to be delivered on a Saturday, please give us a call. Throughout the year, any order being shipped to states with warm climates, including but not limited to Arizona, southern California, Florida, or Texas, must be shipped overnight with an ice pack.

An additional but necessary expense with shipping our perishable artisanal products is the inflatable insulated shipping sleeves and our special non-sweat ice packs. We tried many different shipping products until we found this combination which provides the most effective protection, but they do add to the overall cost of shipping both from the cost of the materials themselves and the weight they add to the shipment. Please note also that the materials cost to ship 1/2 pound of product is the same as for shipping up to 2 pounds of product, with only a minor increase in the weight-based shipping costs so it is more cost effective to order a larger quantity.

It can be a delicate balance between possibly over-protecting a shipment and risking it arriving melted, to everyone's disappointment. Believe me, we work hard to make our treats and we want them to get to you in the best condition possible!

As you can see, we've put a lot of thought and effort into ensuring that your treats arrive in top condition. We'll ship during summer months or to warm climates using our insulated sleeves and cold packs, but we cannot be responsible for product condition--SHIP AT YOUR OWN RISK. If the destination city's temperature is more than 70 degrees and you are sending to someone other than yourself, we will upgrade the shipment to UPS Next Day Air and charge the difference to your credit card. If you have chosen 2nd Day Air, we are not responsible if the chocolates arrive melted and will not offer any refund. Notification of any shipment is sent to the sender's email address. If you are unsure about the temperature at your destination, please check www.weather.com.

For orders outside the U.S., please call our shop at 212-260-0421 or use our contact from. We can arrange to ship your order but we'll need to discuss options depending on how perishable the selected items are. Thanks!

Returns

As our items are perishable, returns will only be permitted in the case of defective or damaged products. If the carrier is unable to deliver your order for some reason and it is instead held for pick up or needs to be redelivered we cannot be responsible if you are unable to claim/receive it in a timely fashion.

When purchasing our products in the summer months or when shipping to warm climates, please be advised that Roni-Sue's Chocolates cannot be held responsible for any melting or damage that may occur through shipping, these shipments are at your own risk. We do our best to ensure the safe transport of your items, and if they arrive in unsatisfactory condition please be in touch to let us know so we can try to help resolve the issue--we aim to please!

Canceling Orders

We take pride in prompt shipping and most orders are shipped the morning following our receipt of the request. We normally ship orders Monday through Wednesday to assure that our products arrive in the freshest condition. Orders received on Thursday or Friday or over the weekend will in most cases be shipped the following Monday. If you decide you do not want what you ordered, it is imperative that you contact us immediately. Once we ship the item it may only be refunded in the case of a defective or damaged product.
